Hi,

April 30 in the afternoon is the day for the Entertainment Arts and Engineering program. We have the following events:

1pm – 3pm in WEB 130 – EAE Demo Day

We will be showcasing final projects from freshman, sophomore, junior, and senior students. They vary from flash and java applet games, to C#-based Xbox games, to Second Life games, 3D Computer models, and the showcase will be three senior EAE project games.

The three senior project games are: Beware of Dog – a 3D party game, Repunzal’s Knight Fight – a racing game with swords, and Urban Space Squirrels – a puzzle platformmer game. Each game will be released to Xbox Live Indie games by the time of the demo. All three teams (of 12 film and computer science students per team) are forming companies to commercialize their games.

3:15 – 5:00 in the Dumke Auditorium, Utah Museum of Fine Arts, Marcia and John Price Museum Building – Machinimafest ’10

This year’s fest has eight excellent entries that include a silent western, a sci fi thriller, an Edgar Allan Poe story, a romance, and others. We will also be screening the final shorts from the 3D computer animation II class. A distinguished jury has again been assembled that will pick the best film. New this year are some films that mix machinima and live action.
